General Questions

  1. What is We Deux LLC?
    We specialize in intimate, stress-free elopements with curated experiences and services. We also specialize in raising livestock and permaculture and native landscape design. We currently offer animal tours and photography venue rental.

  2. Where do you offer elopements?
    We offer elopement packages in Grass Valley, California.

  3. Do you plan full weddings, or only elopements?
    We focus on small, intimate elopements as a simple, nature-inspired alternative to traditional elopement locations like Las Vegas or Reno. Please inquire if a special accommodation is available.

Elopement Planning & Booking

  1. How far in advance should we book our elopement?
    We recommend booking at least 2-6 months in advance, but we can accommodate shorter timelines, if availability allows.

  2. Can we customize our elopement package?
    Yes! We will be sending you a questionnaire with everything you need to customize your magical day, like custom officiant scripts, local vendor recommendations, etc. We will do our best to accommodate.

  3. Do you handle legal marriage paperwork?
    We will send you information on the marriage license process in our informational elopement packet, and sign as a witness the official document after the ceremony, but couples are responsible for filing their paperwork.

  4. Can we bring guests?
    Yes! We accommodate elopements with 2-6 guests plus a photographer.

  5. How long are our guests welcome to stay on the property during our wedding?

    Your guests are welcome to stay for the ceremony, and photography before and afterward. We kindly ask all extra group dinner accommodations or reception events be arranged off property out of respect for our neighbors. You will still receive your dinner certificate to cover your couple’s meal.

  6. Do you assist with reservations for dinner?

    We will plan your reservations for dinner. We will provide a list of restaurants for you to choose from. You will receive a $100 certificate to the restaurant of your choice. Please fill out the questionnaire to let us know your guest count so we can plan in advance. Please note, depending on your group size and how far out you planned your elopement, reservations are subject to availability. If reservations are not available at the restaurant of your choice, we will reserve you at a local sister location from our recommended list.

Locations & Vendors

  1. Do you have preferred venues and vendors?
    Yes, we partner with trusted photographers, florists, and more for a seamless experience. We provide a list for you to arrange your experience.

  2. Can we choose our own vendors?
    Absolutely! You're welcome to bring your own vendors or use our recommended ones.

Pricing & Payment

  1. What is included in your elopement packages after booking lodging?
    Packages typically include photography venue access, officiant services, marriage license and witness, champagne toast, small wedding cake, and a farm animal experience for photos.

  2. What is your payment policy?
    We require a deposit to secure your date, with the balance due before your elopement.

Miscellaneous

  1. What happens if the weather is bad?
    We have backup plans for indoor or covered spaces to ensure your day is beautiful, rain or shine.

  2. Can we bring our pets?
    Unfortunately, no, as we have many guardian dogs on the property that are defensive against dogs, so for your pet’s safety, we kindly ask you leave them at home.

Booking & Payment

How do I reserve a stay?

To reserve your dates, simply book through our website. Your reservation is confirmed once your deposit is received and you receive a booking confirmation email.

What is your payment schedule?

We require:

  • 50% deposit at booking

  • Remaining 50% due 14 days prior to arrival

You’ll receive automatic reminders as your payment date approaches.

Cancellation Policy

What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy is designed to protect the quiet, limited availability of the farm.

  • The 50% booking deposit is non-refundable, as your dates are removed from availability immediately.

  • The remaining balance is due 14 days prior to arrival.

  • If you cancel after paying the remaining balance, any refund beyond the deposit may be considered at the Host’s discretion, depending on whether the dates are successfully rebooked.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for peace of mind.

Can I reschedule instead of cancel?

We understand plans can change. If you need to reschedule:

  • One (1) reschedule may be permitted within 12 months, subject to availability.

  • Your original deposit may be applied to the new dates.

  • Additional reschedules are not guaranteed and may incur fees.

Check-in & Check-out

What are check-in and check-out times?

  • Check-in: 3pm

  • Check-out: 11am

We’ll send arrival instructions and access details before your stay.

Do you offer early check-in or late check-out?

When available, yes — we can sometimes accommodate early check-in or late check-out, subject to availability. Please message us in advance to check availability.

About the Farm & Property

What kind of experience is We Deux Farm?

We Deux Farm is peaceful, rural, and intentionally quiet — a place for slowing down, connecting, and breathing deep. You’ll be surrounded by nature, open sky, and the rhythms of farm life.

Is the property shared with other guests?

This depends on your specific booking and dates. In the afternoons, there may be farm tours occurring on the property depending on the season. There may also be a photographer renting the property for the day for photography. The hosts live in the unit upstairs with their two dogs.

Are there animals on the property?

Yes — this is a working farm environment. You may see or hear animals and normal farm activity during your stay. (We’ll include any “do not feed / do not enter” guidance in your arrival instructions.)

Amenities

What amenities are included?

Your stay includes access to the amenities listed in your booking, which may include outdoor spaces, a sauna, deck areas, and soaking tubs (currently under construction).

Some amenities are seasonal, weather-dependent, or under development, and may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance or safety conditions.

Are the sauna and soaking tubs always available?

Not always. For safety and upkeep, access may be paused due to:

  • severe weather

  • maintenance

  • cleaning schedule

  • safety concerns

  • misuse

We do our best to communicate changes as early as possible.

Safety

Are there any safety rules for the sauna, deck, and soaking tubs?

Yes — your safety is important to us. Guests agree to:

  • follow all posted guidelines and Host instructions

  • use amenities only as intended

  • supervise all guests at all times

  • avoid sauna/soaking tub use while under the influence of alcohol

Use of amenities is at the guest’s own risk. The Host is not responsible for injury, illness, or loss resulting from the use or misuse of amenities.

Are children allowed in the sauna or soaking tubs?

For safety reasons, children are not permitted in sauna or soaking tub areas.

Quiet Hours & Farm Culture

Are there quiet hours?

Yes — We Deux Farm is a peaceful property, and we prioritize rest and respect for nature and neighbors.

Quiet hours are observed from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

Can we play music?

Soft music is welcome. However:

  • loud or amplified music is not allowed

  • DJ equipment or sound systems are not permitted

  • please keep volume respectful at all times

Visitors, Events, & Guest Limits

Can I have visitors during my stay?

Visitors are not permitted unless approved in writing. Guest limits are strictly enforced for safety and property care.

Can I host an event, ceremony, or gathering?

No — lodging-only reservations do not permit events, ceremonies, or gatherings unless you have booked an elopement or event package through We Deux Farm.

Practical Questions Guests Always Ask

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes (or no). Please note: rural connectivity can be slower than in town.

Is cell service reliable?

Cell service varies by carrier. We recommend downloading maps and any important info before arriving.

Is the road accessible? Do I need 4WD?

Unless otherwise noted, standard vehicles can access the farm. If weather conditions change, we’ll let you know if a higher-clearance vehicle is recommended.

What should we pack?

We recommend bringing:

  • comfy layers (temperatures can shift quickly)

  • sturdy shoes for the property. Boots and long pants recommended

  • swimsuit for soaking tubs (if using)

  • slippers / robe (if you want to lean into the spa vibe)

  • flashlight/ headlamp (rural dark skies are beautiful — and dark!)
