Personalized Wedding Ceremonies in Nevada County & Placer County

Whether you're planning an intimate gathering in a Sierra foothill meadow, exchanging vows beneath the pines of Nevada City, or celebrating with loved ones as the sun sets over the hills of Grass Valley, Caitlin Cammarata of We Deux helps couples create thoughtful, personalized wedding ceremonies in the beautiful landscapes of Nevada County and Placer County.

About Your Officiant

A woman with long wavy blonde hair, smiling, wearing a sleeveless dark top and a pendant necklace, against a dark gray background.

Hi, I’m Caitlin Cammarata, co-founder of We Deux Farm and a wedding officiant serving couples throughout Nevada County and Placer County!

My path to becoming an officiant grew naturally from the life I’ve built here in the Sierra foothills. I’m a registered nurse, small business owner, property manager, and farmer, and much of my work has centered around caring for people and creating welcoming spaces for community.

My partner and I run a small farm where we began hosting intimate elopements and small ceremonies for couples seeking a peaceful, meaningful place to get married. What began as a simple offering quickly became something we deeply loved being part of. Witnessing two people commit their lives to one another, surrounded by nature and the people who matter most, is incredibly special.

That experience inspired me to become ordained through the Universal Life Church, allowing me to offer personalized officiant services throughout Nevada County and Placer County, in addition to the ceremonies we host on our farm.

My approach is warm and collaborative. I work with each couple to create a ceremony that reflects their story, values, and relationship, whether you’re planning an intimate elopement, a backyard gathering, or a celebration in the beautiful landscapes of the Sierra foothills.

I’d be honored to help create a ceremony that feels authentic, meaningful, and truly yours.

  • Please fill out the contact form below to submit your inquiry. I will be able to get a quote together for your specific date and location. If your dates are available, I will send you a booking link to schedule the date and time you requested, with your package details. 50% of the payment is due at time of booking.

  • Yes. I am an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church, a non-denominational organization that has been ordaining ministers since 1962. Universal Life Church ministers are legally authorized to officiate weddings in California. As part of your ceremony, I will also guide you through the proper signing of your marriage license to ensure your marriage is legally recognized.

  • Yes absolutely! If your desired date and time is available (even if it’s same day), I would be delighted to be a part of your ceremony.

  • It can be as long or as short as you envision. Generally, most ceremonies are 10-25 minutes.

  • Yes. In California, couples must obtain their marriage license from a county clerk before the ceremony and bring it with them on the wedding day. I will sign the license during the ceremony along with your witness(es), and help ensure it is completed correctly. After the ceremony, the license must be returned to the county recorder’s office so your marriage can be officially registered.

(Tip: Be sure to bring the license with you — without it, I’m not legally able to perform the marriage.)

  • Yes. My husband and I operate a small farm in Nevada County where we host intimate elopements and small wedding ceremonies in a peaceful Sierra foothill setting. It’s a lovely option for couples looking for a simple, nature-centered place to get married.

Special full elopement packages are available for ceremonies hosted on the farm. Feel free to mention it in your inquiry if you'd like more information, or see the “Elopements” tab at the top of the page for more information.

If you already have your marriage license, and just want a quick ceremony somewhere beautiful, we have a mini-elopement available at the bottom of this page. We provide an officiant, a witness, and access to the farm for an hour for photos.

  • In California, at least one witness is required to sign a public marriage license (which is the most common type). Many couples choose a close friend or family member to serve as their witness.

If you're planning an elopement, there are a few easy options. Couples often ask their photographer to act as their witness, or they may bring a friend or family member. If your ceremony is taking place on our farm as part of an elopement package, a witness is provided.

If you have questions about witnesses or logistics for a smaller ceremony, I’m always happy to help you find a simple solution.

  • While my officiant services focus on creating and performing your ceremony, couples who choose to elope on our Nevada County farm can take advantage of our all-inclusive elopement packages.

These packages include your ceremony with officiant and witness, dried flower bouquets or boutonnieres, a celebratory toast, locally baked treats or small wedding cakes, and special touches to make your day feel effortless and memorable. Couples also receive a discount on staying in our French Victorian Farmhouse Suite, along with access to our curated list of trusted local vendors for photography, hair and makeup, and other enhancements.

Pricing begins at $1,300 in winter and $1,900 in summer, depending on the season and day of the week.
If you're interested in eloping on the farm, feel free to mention it in your inquiry and I’ll happily share more details.
