California Wedding Officiant
Personalized Wedding Ceremonies in Nevada County & Placer County
Whether you're planning an intimate gathering in a Sierra foothill meadow, exchanging vows beneath the pines of Nevada City, or celebrating with loved ones as the sun sets over the hills of Grass Valley, Caitlin Cammarata of We Deux helps couples create thoughtful, personalized wedding ceremonies in the beautiful landscapes of Nevada County and Placer County.
About Your Officiant
Hi, I'm Caitlin Cammarata, co-founder of We Deux Farm and a wedding officiant serving couples across Nevada County and Placer County.
My path to officiating grew naturally from the life we have built here in the Sierra foothills. I'm a nurse, a farmer, and a small business owner, and so much of my work has always been about caring for people and creating warm, welcoming spaces for them. When my partner and I eloped, we learned firsthand how hard it can be to find a simple, beautiful place to marry on your own terms, so we set out to create one here on our farm.
Becoming ordained through the Universal Life Church felt like the natural next step, a way to walk beside couples through one of the most meaningful moments of their lives. I am honored to officiate both on the farm and out in the beautiful landscapes of Nevada and Placer County.
My approach is warm and collaborative. Whether you are dreaming of an intimate elopement, a backyard gathering, or a ceremony in the foothills, I will work closely with you to create something that reflects your story, your values, and your love. I would be honored to help make your ceremony feel authentic, meaningful, and truly yours.

Yes. I am an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church, a non-denominational organization that has been ordaining ministers since 1962. Universal Life Church ministers are legally authorized to officiate weddings in California. As part of your ceremony, I will also guide you through the proper signing of your marriage license to ensure your marriage is legally recognized.
-
Yes absolutely! If your desired date and time is available (even if it’s same day), and you have your marriage certificate in-hand, I would be delighted to be a part of your ceremony.
-
It can be as long or as short as you envision. Generally, most ceremonies are 10-25 minutes.
-
Yes. In California, couples must obtain their marriage license from a county clerk before the ceremony and bring it with them on the wedding day. I will sign the license during the ceremony along with your witness(es), and help ensure it is completed correctly. After the ceremony, the license must be returned to the county recorder’s office so your marriage can be officially registered.
(Tip: Be sure to bring the license with you — without it, I’m not legally able to perform the marriage.)
-
Yes. My husband and I operate a small farm in Nevada County where we host intimate elopements and small wedding ceremonies in a peaceful Sierra foothill setting. It’s a lovely option for couples looking for a simple, nature-centered place to get married.
Special full elopement packages are available for ceremonies hosted on the farm. Feel free to mention it in your inquiry if you'd like more information, or see the “Elopements” tab at the top of the page for more information.
If you already have your marriage license, and just want a quick ceremony somewhere beautiful, we have a mini-elopement available at the bottom of this page. We provide an officiant, a witness, and access to the farm for an hour for photos.
-
In California, at least one witness is required to sign a public marriage license (which is the most common type). Many couples choose a close friend or family member to serve as their witness.
If you're planning an elopement, there are a few easy options. Couples often ask their photographer to act as their witness, or they may bring a friend or family member. If your ceremony is taking place on our farm as part of an elopement package, a witness is provided.
If you have questions about witnesses or logistics for a smaller ceremony, I’m always happy to help you find a simple solution.
-
While my officiant services focus on creating and performing your ceremony, couples who choose to elope on our Nevada County farm can take advantage of our all-inclusive elopement packages.
These packages include your ceremony with officiant and witness, dried flower bouquets or boutonnieres, a celebratory toast, locally baked treats or small wedding cakes, and special touches to make your day feel effortless and memorable. Couples also receive a discount on staying in our French Victorian Farmhouse Suite, along with access to our curated list of trusted local vendors for photography, hair and makeup, and other enhancements.
Pricing begins at $1,500 in winter and $1,900 in summer, depending on the season and day of the week.
If you're interested in eloping on the farm, feel free to mention it in your inquiry and I’ll happily share more details.
